The Classic Open Water 7 k

Registration from 15th October

The 7 km Backwaterman has been the most traditional long-distance race in Austria for 18 years.

The unique fjord landscape in the Ottenstein reservoir offers open water swimmers a pure natural experience. The reservoir is only accessible in a few places and is therefore ideal for exploring by boat, canoe and SUP.

To the start of the Fuernkranzmühle you will be transported by bus and has to the swim 200 m to the starting line.

The total limit for the 7 km distance is 80 participants.

Mandatory: Due to new official requirements, buoys are mandatory

Accompanying with a canoe or e boat is for the 7 k prohibited for safety and competition reasons.

Race briefing will take place via Facebook livestream on Friday 5 p.m.,

questions can be posted.

The live streaming can then be accessed as a video at any time.

Registration: 6 p.m. - 7 p.m

Saturday June 22, 2024

Open water boot Myswimshop.de from 7 am

Registration: 8.15 - 9.15

(after the start of the 14 k)

Shuttle 9.30

Start around 10.15

The start takes place in the mass start

Finish 1:15 p.m

Individual Shuttle back to Schloss Waldreichs with small groups

Award ceremony:

Everyone is a winner and receives a trophy at the award ceremony

Overall award ceremony approx. 1.30 p.m

Attention: you will be transported to the start by bus and a short swim to the start

Note on orientation: We place some buoys or markers on land at critical points. There is also a beach flag at the refreshment point at Teufelsfelsen.

Neoprene is prohibited above 25 degrees, but jammers are allowed

Timekeeping takes place without a chip using an app.

The number on the swimming cap is important.
